Hi! I’m Heather, a detail devotee and member of the Editorial Freelancers Association (EFA) with a Certificate in Copyediting from UC San Diego, an MEd focused on literacy, a BA in Literature, and experience since 2017 editing fiction, nonfiction, and business texts (using Chicago, AP, and house styles). I keep a watchful eye on the big picture when I edit, but I specialize in the details, focusing on accuracy, clarity, and consistency while checking grammar, spelling, punctuation, and much more.
As a former lit major, I have a warm reading nook in my heart for fiction. Some of my favorite genres to edit and read are literary, romance, mystery, historical, speculative, and I've had the opportunity to edit for new, established, and award-winning writers from a variety of backgrounds.
I also love small businesses and am dedicated to ensuring their messages are clear and effective. I’m available to edit marketing or other materials, in addition to web content.
